Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker recently launched his own cannabis company, Barker Canna Co., with the brand’s vegan edibles, infused pre-rolls and live rosin all-in-one vaporizers available now at The Syndicate and other cannabis retailers in California.
The company was launched in partnership with Jupiter Research, which supplies the company’s vape hardware.
“Jupiter Research knows vaporization hardware inside and out, and their expertise was invaluable throughout the product development process,” said Ash Patel, co-founder of Barker Canna Co. “Together we designed a sleek and easy-to-use device that bridges the gap between quality and affordability.”
Barker rose to fame in the late 1990’s as the drummer of Blink-182, then starred in the short-lived MTV reality show “Meet the Barkers” starting in 2005. In 2008, he was involved in a major plane crash that killed multiple passengers and left Barker with numerous injuries and months in the hospital.
“I think back, and I was this little punk, someone I’m not proud of, that’s abusing pills every day and taking all this shit recreationally,” he told Billboard in a 2015 interview. “And then you look death in the face and you almost die in a plane crash, and then you’re actually forced to be on morphine for four months or whatever. It’s like ‘Oh, how did the tables change?’ I went from being like that to getting out of the hospital and refusing to take pain meds home. I was on all these crazy crazy bipolar drugs too ‘cause I was suicidal in the hospital, masking everything from the pain of thinking, ‘Are my friends dead? Do you have to amputate my foot?’ … I was already a great father. I loved my kids, but after that it was like I had a second chance at life and so much changed. There was no more drug abuse.”
In 2023, Barker married Kourtney Kardashian — of Keeping Up With the Kardashians fame — and the couple had their first child together in November 2023 (each have three children from previous relationships).
Although Barker Canna Co. is the musician’s first venture into the regulated cannabis market, he previously founded Barker Wellness, a line of products that include CBD-infused gummies and topicals.
“Jupiter’s established reputation as an innovative, trusted supplier of inhalation products made this partnership with Barker Canna Co. a natural fit,” said Tim Conder, CEO of TILT Holdings, the parent company of Jupiter. “From concept to launch, we worked closely with the brand’s team to navigate the hardware selection process and co-create a customized, premium line that can be enjoyed right out of the box.”
