Name: Maryam Mirnateghi Age: 35 Company: Canna Position: Owner Her newest project, a retail store in West Seattle called Canna, will open in June. “My number one goal is to build and maintain trust with my clients, customers, staff and the communities each project may impact,” she says. “Usually, that means asking the right questions and playing by the golden rule.”
Mirnateghi has also worked as a consultant assisting many cannabis-related businesses. She believes the future of the industry will rely heavily on policy changes from the federal government.
“Personally, I would hate to see the pharmaceutical industry lock up the newly found freedom this plant has discovered,” she says.
She hopes people involved in the legalization movement understand that it’s important not to settle for the rescheduling of cannabis.
The ultimate goal, she says, must be the removal of marijuana from the federal government’s controlled substances schedule altogether.
