Esther Willows Age: 22 Company: One Planet Street Position: Co-owner “I was just ready,” she says. “I was working in corporate when I was really young.” Willows says her parents exposed her to business culture at a very early age, and she hasn’t stopped working since she started giving piano lessons. However, as a teenager, Willows developed bulimia, a diagnosis that led to an onslaught of prescriptions. “I had Zoloft for depression, Zofran for constant nausea, Xanax for anxiety and Adderall for ADD and ADHD,” she says. “While I was on this cocktail and with the eating disorder, I was just getting sicker and sicker.” She left home to attend college at 16, and eventually began experimenting with cannabis. “With cannabis I started discovering that I could eat and not feel horrible,” Willows says. “It wasn’t just helping my mentality, but also as an appetite inducer.” Now 22, Willows already has more experience than some entrepreneurs twice her age. She plans to earn her master’s degree within the next two years, and is in the process of launching her first line of flower products, Calimedication. She also dedicates her time to Esther’s House, a foundation set up to mentor youth with eating disorders.
