Roy Arms Age: 33 Company: Seven Hills Farms Position: Co-owner The former Marine invested a great deal of time searching for the perfect location to establish his state-licensed grow operation, Seven Hills Farms. After months of arduous searching, Arms thought he’d found the perfect spot, a warehouse just south of the Canadian border in northwestern Washington state. Just days before signing the lease, he started to have reservations. “The more I dug into the numbers to set the estimated annual budget and operating expenses, the more I started to see potential problems,” Arms says. “We eventually walked away from the deal, and I started to take a long, hard look at sun-growing and the economics of commercial greenhouses.” Wanting the ability to grow year-round, he eventually settled on a commercial greenhouse and planted roots in Wenatchee, “the apple capital of the world.” To read more about Roy Arms and Seven Hills Farms, see the upcoming debut issue of SunGrower & Greenhouse, a sister magazine from the same team that publishes Marijuana Venture.
