Focusing entirely on the needs of cannabis retailers and dispensary operators, the National Retail and Dispensary Expo, or RAD Expo for short, is scheduled for Jan. 17-18, 2018, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
The expo is produced by Marijuana Venture, the largest cannabis business magazine in both the U.S. and Canada.
“We have been invited to all the major industry trade shows over the years and noticed that the focus has never been on the retail or dispensary owner, which really doesn’t make much sense,” Marijuana Venture publisher Greg James says. “When you look at other industries, the biggest national trade shows like CES, E3 and BookExpo are built to showcase new products to major retail chain buyers.”
At the RAD Expo, marijuana retail store owners, managers, investors and employees will get a chance to see the latest products and services available for the industry. Exhibitors include design firms, lighting experts, fixture manufactures, display case suppliers, packaging companies, snack food companies and more. The RAD expo also has a farmer’s market section, where state-licensed growers and processors can introduce retail buyers to their brands and products.
Admission to the RAD Expo is free for retail and dispensary owners, managers, buyers and employees, as well as people who are planning to apply for a license in newly legal markets. Attendees must preregister online at www.TheRadExpo.com.
“A show like E3 wouldn’t charge a buyer from Costco $400 at the door,” says James. “That would be crazy. Buyers should get in for free. We are taking that model and building a similar show for cannabis retailers. It not only promotes a lot of foot traffic, but vendors know that they are talking to a qualified buyer and not a tire-kicker.”
