Brooke Burgstahler
Age: 31
Actress and comedian
Comedian, actress, journalist, podcaster and advocate Brooke Burgstahler says cannabis saved her life at a time when she was drinking too much and since then, she simply lets the plant speak through her.
“She’s really been my muse, my inspiration for living a good, conscious life,” Burgstahler says. “I feel very blessed that she wants to work with me and work through me.”
Since graduating from the University of Miami with a journalism degree and heading to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, Burgstahler made a name for herself within the industry working for Snoop Dogg’s Merry Jane Media, where she won a Golden Telly in 2018 for her docuseries “Prisoners of Prohibition,” about people serving life sentences for cannabis convictions. She created and starred in the World of Weed video series and created the Budding Mind platform and hosts a podcast of the same name, dedicated to cannabis and the larger plant medicine field in general.
Burgstahler has also stayed busy in Hollywood, doing stand-up comedy and appearing in shows as varied as Mad Men, Black-ish, MTV’s Greatest Party Story Ever and the new Apple TV show For All Mankind, which premiered in June.
“It’s my brand vision to represent the softer side of cannabis, the more feminine qualities of this particular plant,” she says. “I just feel fortunate to continually create in this space and be a voice for this plant, and hopefully flourish the cannabis universe with a bit of fun and light-hearted humor.”
