AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — For those looking to invest in the legal cannabis industry, an amazing opportunity could be available in Eastern Washington.
The Top Shelf, a fully licensed and operational marijuana retail store, is for sale.
“I just figured if I’m going to retire again, it better be around now,” owner Florence Childs said.
The store is ideally located with close proximity to a Walmart and casino, with a nearby racetrack that brings in additional crowds.
“In the marijuana retail world, because of the restrictions on advertising, location is everything,” said Greg James, publisher of the industry trade magazine, Marijuana Venture. “Florence has an amazing location, and I think that the right buyer could turn her store – and location – into a goldmine!”
Childs, 82, didn’t have any retail or marijuana experience to speak of before applying for the license in 2012. The store opened in January 2015 and has quickly increased its sales to around $200,000 a month, she said.
