Over the past few years, the number of CBD-related products has increased, seemingly, exponentially. And while the various tinctures, topicals and edibles have become commonplace, there have been a few items that have made us wonder if perhaps the CBD market has jumped the shark, so to speak.
Let’s start at the top, where there are several products for the hair and scalp, such as CBD Daily Shampoo and Conditioner, aimed at helping prevent dry scalp and moisturize hair. For spots a little lower, there’s AJ’s CBD Stache Wax and Jack’s Stache Cement and the Hemp Republic CBD Mustache Wax.
Sure, there are plenty of CBD-infused cookies and candies and gummies, but perhaps the most unique food product is Jay’s CBD Potato Chips and Dabritos CBD Nacho Cheese Corn Chips (which look suspiciously similar to Lay’s and Doritos) from Earthshine Organics. Then maybe relax with a CannaDip CBD chew as a hemp-based alternative to tobacco.
When you’re done eating, try out the Ignite CBD-infused toothpicks, which release cannabidiol into the gums and sublingual cavity when chewed, according to the company, and come in six different flavors. There’s also the new CBD-infused oral care line from Hello Products, including both fluoride and fluoride-free toothpastes and two different CBD-infused mouthwashes, as well as a new line of CBD lip balms.
There are countless lotions, serums, balms and salves on the market, as well as several different CBD-infused coffees, but not to be outdone is De La Beuh, which combines the two categories with its CBD-infused Coffee Scrub to exfoliate, moisturize and reduce cellulite.
CBD is also being infused in fabrics now, which has led to the Acabada line of CBD-infused active wear for women, which uses micro-encapsulation to “strategically” infuse 25 grams of CBD into the fabric and release CBD during movement, good for up to 40 washes. There’s also theNufabrx-powered Hemp Squeeze Knee Sleeve, infused with 150 milligrams of CBD, good for 25 washes.
Several cannabis companies make personal lubricants, but now, at least one company is targeting men with its CBD-based product for “enhancement” purposes. CannaMojo offers CBD capsules that the company says will help men, uh, “optimize your potential and increase overall satisfaction and performance” with increased sensitivity.
And as for the bed? There’s plenty of CBD for that too. From the ZBD Mattress, infused with micro-encapsulated CBD released by friction to Curfew’s CBD-infused Dream Blanket to the CBD Pillow, which focuses the same technology right at your head in what the company calls “the world’s most relaxing pillow.” Or if you don’t want to go that far, you can simply try the CBD-infused pillow cases from National Allergy.
We’re not saying these products don’t work exactly how the manufacturers describe, but some of these products — and claims — feel a little outlandish.
So has the CBD product market jumped the shark? Hard to tell, but one thing is for sure, the market will only continue to expand, which means plenty more unique and interesting products are just on the horizon.
