L’Eagle Services, a retail cannabis store in Denver specializing in clean cannabis, has earned recognition as a Certified Green Business from the city and county of Denver Department of Environmental Health for the second year in a row. Last year, L’Eagle was the first cannabis company to meet the rigorous standards required to achieve this prestigious environmental certification for retail operations, and today it remains the only Denver dispensary with the designation, continuing its sustainability and environmental leadership in the marijuana industry.
“At L’Eagle Services, we are honored to be recognized again for our unprecedented recycling and sustainability programs in our retail dispensary,” said Amy Andrle, co-owner of L’Eagle Services. “This certification renewal serves to further motivate us as we continue striving to be environmentally friendly and transparent, setting an industry-wide standard for best practices and seeking to encourage other Denver dispensaries to do the same.”
Denver Environmental Health’s Certifiably Green Denver program (CGD) provides free, confidential non-regulatory environmental assistance to Denver’s business community. The program helps businesses find opportunities to improve efficiency while minimizing environmental liability through pollution prevention. CGD recognizes businesses that demonstrate exemplary environmental achievement in five key areas: energy efficiency, water conservation, resource management, alternative transportation and responsible business management. Local businesses who have received this honor were recognized at the 2017 Green Business Showcase, held Aug. 30.
When the certification expanded to include cannabis retail stores in 2016, L’Eagle made groundbreaking progress as the first dispensary in Denver to achieve this milestone, showcasing its commitment to promoting best practices for sustainability. As an industry leader, the company has not only contributed positively to the Denver community, but has paved the way for other cannabis retail stores to strive for the Certifiably Green certification as well. This year, L’Eagle demonstrated its dedication to these efforts by further improving landfill diversion and packaging.
“From day one, L’Eagle Services has established itself as a trailblazer in the cannabis retail environment,” said Emily Backus, sustainability advisor for Certifiably Green Denver. “In 2017, the company has proven its continued dedication to pioneering conservation methods and generating environmental awareness in the industry, remaining at the forefront of these efforts with impressive results to show for it.”
