After a hugely successful launch in January, the RAD (Retail and Dispensary) Expo is returning to the Oregon Convention Center in Portland on Oct. 10-11. Marijuana Venture is hosting the two-day event, which is free for retail and dispensary owners, investors, managers and employees who pre-register at www.TheRADExpo.com.
“It only makes sense to let retailers attend for free,” says Greg James, publisher of Marijuana Venture. “You wouldn’t pay admission to go to the mall, and retail buyers and inventory managers attending a convention shouldn’t have to either.”
RAD Expo is the only national trade show designed exclusively for the retail sector of the cannabis industry. The event is expected to attract thousands of retailers from across North America, as well as bringing together the leading minds and companies in areas such as technology, design and visual merchandising from the greater retail community, all with the goal of helping store owners streamline their businesses.
“The RAD Expo is the only conference where we know almost everyone we talk to will be a potential client or partner because of its focus on retail and brands,” says Jeff LaPenna, CEO of The Peak Beyond, an interactive technology company and returning RAD Expo vendor.
The show focuses on retail — so every speaker, panel, booth and vendor provides a tool, service or insight for RAD’s attendees.
“It’s a great show,” says Aaron Mitchell, owner of La Mota, a cannabis retail chain. “It’s awesome to see that it’s just for retailers.”
A limited number of expert panels will address the CBD boom, successful marketing and design strategies, legal compliance and other subjects.
An after-hours networking event is also planned for the evening of Oct. 10.
